 US Visas

A VISA is an authority to allow some of foreign origins to enter, to transit, stay and work in another country. VISA does not guarantee entry. That remains the right with immigration authority of the concerned country.


Types of Visa

Immigrant VISA

Immigrant VISA is for those who want to permanently reside and work in USA. Such people can take any kind of employment in USA.

Non Immigrant VISA

 Non Immigrant VISA is for those who want to go to USA, on temporary basis for work / transit / pleasure / medical reason etc. and then return to their country. There can be many different categories for this kind of VISA

Green Card and Citizens

Any alien, who works in the USA for good period of time, can go ahead and apply for Green Card. A GC makes his/her resident of USA. They can take up any employer, buy property, take bank loans etc. However, a GC holder doesn't have the right to Vote.

A Citizen is a person, who was born or has been in USA for a long time. H/she needs to have a Permanent Resident Card, to prove that, they are USA Citizens. Citizens can take up any job / buy property / take bank loans etc. Citizens also have the right to Vote.

Some Important Points

 VISA stands for Visitor's Intended Stay Abroad. There are different types of visa to enter USA, which are classified as per the nature of your visit. A visa does not guarantee entry in a particular country. This remains as a right with the Immigration Authorities of that country. Everyone who enters USA should have h /her 1-94 form duly stamped by the Immigration Authorities USCIS: United States Citizenship and Immigration Services is the government body that controls the immigration statuses of the foreign nationals. www.uscis.gov
